Coffee Broken Down In Terms Of The Benefits And Negatives
As you relax over a cup of coffee after lunch, you might sometimes ask yourself if it’s doing you harm. If you’re the worrying type, you might ask yourself that same question every day.
Hundreds of millions of people around the world drink coffee. Not only does the taste grow on coffee drinkers over time, but the obvious benefits of caffeine provide an ample boost to our energy levels that nothing else seems to do.
A cup of coffee can also help us while we work. In studies, caffeine was shown to make people more alert, better able to concentrate and more efficient.
It’s clear, then, that coffee has a positive effect on the way the brain functions. However, there are differing opinions as to whether coffee is good for the body as a whole. Some say it’s harmless, whereas others are convinced it can’t be beneficial.
Some studies will show that coffee may in fact raise blood pressure levels over time. This, coupled with the fact that heart rates increase with caffeine consumption, worries many people.
On the other hand, these same studies point to the fact that mass consumption of coffee in heavy doses over long periods of time would be the only way to make this happen. If you’re having just a cup a day or something to that effect, you have little reason to worry.
Then, of course, we have the beneficial effects of the antioxidants in coffee. Studies have shown that they offer a line of defense against the development of diseases such as cancer. This is not hard to believe when we consider that coffee is natural. The same qualities are also to be found in red wine, another natural product.
Of course, any powerful stimulant should be handled carefully, especially as we grow older. We just have to be careful not to overdo things where coffee is concerned. As the saying goes, moderation in all things and all things in moderation!

Caffeine is also an interesting ingredient in eye care products. One of the major causes of under eye shadows is the leakage from tiny blood vessels. Under the skin the hemoglobin from the blood appears as darkened areas. Caffeine which is known to constrict blood vessels, is hoped to prevent more leakage. The result? THe dark shadows will hopefully, gradually fade. I am trying out differnt anti-aging products in my blog, nononsensebeauty.wordpress.com, and will be using differnt caffeine enriched eye creams. Lets see if any of them actually work.
